Building Access
This is not a public building world. I am however interested in help
from builders who share a love for this type of
nature art and wilderness landscaping.
Content Rules
- No Adult or offensive materials.
- No advertising, spam, or commerce.
- No file distribution of any type.
- No copyright infringement.
- No use that violate the law.
- No use for commercial purposes.
Leaves Building Guidelines
We wish to focus our efforts as closely as possible to our nature wilderness theme. It is interesting how virtual reality mirrors real life. The usual build request goes something like this. "Can I build here?" "What would you build?" "A big house. A house in the forest would look real nice" "We would really like to stick with the nature wilderness theme, have you done any nature building?" "No...". "I'm sorry but, if we let people build only houses, then soon we would have a city, not a forest.....". Think of a mountain stream, with cold clear water splashing over the rocks crossing an alpine meadow on the edge of a forest, with a group of deer enjoying the shade.
If you are really inspired by this type of art, leaves could be viewed
as a great canvas to express nature art. My original
vision was to try to translate the concept of landscape oil
painting to 3D virtual reality.
As much as practical, the builds in this world must conform to this theme. Objects
should be naturally distributed, rather than lined up in even
rows. Vacation cabins and frontier cabins are welcome. Castles, sports stadiums, large multi-story buildings, large hotel complex will not be allowed. Excessive signs, bill boards, and above ground teleport centers are also not welcome.
A further word about houses. We have found that past rules about house construction were just not practical. The builders in leaves have strongly suggested that a house is like a picture frame from which to view the nature wilderness around it. It is a place where inside four walls, photos and other custom items can personalize an area without detracting from the outside nature view. Let's try for the 80/20 rule. So long as 80 percent of the effort is devoted to Leaves primary nature topic, have fun inside the houses.
Admin Objects
Each 100 meter x 100 meter lot will be reserved by prop001h.rwx objects on the lower level at -25m altitiude. The lots are surrounded by purple walls on the lower level.
The primary purpose of the purple walls and the prop001h objects is to allow the bot to manage property
of different users in square block areas. Examples include the change of
citizen number, backup and restore of individual areas. However,
all of the objects have been modified to allow encroachment up to the
center of the object. This encroachment was meant to allow smooth transition into
your neighbors land, not to encroach up to the size of the objects. Borders between lots are shared.
Terrain
In July 2002, leaves was converted from the ground object to terrain ground. Unfortunately,
caretaker rights are required to edit the terrain data. Don't bother ask, I don't plan to give out
caretaker rights. If you want to edit terrain in your lot, I may have work around using the bot, contact me. Also, I love building terrain, if you would like some changes in your area, just let me know.
Leaves Object Yard
All of the models in our object path are available for viewing in our object yard located in a separate world Leaves2. Sorry, only builders have access to this world.
Object contributions
From time to time, builders in leaves have made sprites or contributed photos to make sprites. When objects or photos are donated, the following conditions apply.
- The contributor agress that he/she has the legal rights to donate these objects. An email may be requested so we can document the source of the contributed objects.
- The contributor agrees that any photo or object donated to Leaves World is a perminant donation. Future removal of the object is not practical becuase it will leaves black triangles where the objects are used.
- Do not send money. Leaves is an individual personal world and has no capabilities to accept or handle money.
- If you would like to donate any objects to Leaves world, please check with cotarr first. There are some strict goals about object download file size and appearance.

I have been running this world as my personal hobby. It is an individual personal world license and I pay all server fees and license fees. I reserve the right to discontinue
the world or to delete any of the world database at any time without notice.
